Glenn has been involved in photography and imaging since age two when he
would help his father in the darkroom. By age ten he was doing all
aspects of darkroom work from film developing to print making.
Throughout high school and college, he was involved in newspapers,
yearbooks, and fine art photography.
In 1990, Glenn received the award for
Outstanding Individual Effort from the Northeast Ohio Camera Club
Council. This was earned by placing first in many contests and in
different categories. He currently travels to various Cleveland photo
groups to judge their competitions and give talks on digital imaging.
Since 1999 Glenn stopped doing darkroom
work and concentrated fully on digital photography. “ I feel leaving the
confines of the darkroom have opened up greater opportunities for
creativity and expression. The digital imaging arena is evolving at an
extremely rapid pace and it is exciting to be involved with it.”
Currently, Glenn is concentrating fully
on his imaging efforts. He had a very successful showing at Smart Tart
gallery in Tremont from April 2003 until March 2004 with shows at
Edison’s Pub, Tremont Scoops and Atmosphere Gallery into 2008. In 2007
he won TWO first place awards with digital images in the Signature of
Solon photo show. “ I plan to continue and improve my imaging efforts.
I like to draw the viewer into my work through strong composition and
eye-catching subjects. Although my foundation was in black and white
photography, I have fully embraced the vivid colors and effects offered
digitally. I do occasionally manipulate my work but mostly to improve
the scene, colors, and composition. Most people would never know digital
enhancements were made.”
Glenn is now involved in private Photoshop
tutoring, occasional art shows, and working with Waterloo 7 Gallery in
the upcoming Waterloo Arts District. |
